Story of Historical Story-Telling or Daastan-goi relived at Creative KHI Festival

Through the eyes of Salahuddin Misbah

Daastan-goi or a “Story Telling” is one of the oldest forms of Performing Art. Its history is spread over Pre-Islamic era. In Indian Subcontinent it became part of courts of Delhi and Lucknow in 16th Century.

On Sunday 30th November 2014, I attended Creative KHI Festival at Alliance Franchise. On the last day NAPA’s students Fawad Khan and Nazrul Hasan stole the festival with their exuberant performance of Dastaan-goi.
