Q. To begin with, tell us some about your background, who are you and what you do?
Azhar: I m Azhar Tahir Nabi. I belong to a business family. I completed my Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA-Hons) from University of Management and Technology (UMT) in 2010 and currently working for KFC as HR Executive.
Q. How you first became interested in photography?
Azhar: Photography is an amazing skill to develop. It’s something creative. There are 100s of reasons why I want to become a photographer. Here are a few:
• Shoot anytime, anywhere
• Capture a memory that you can have forever
• Notice the details
• See the beauty in everyday
• Capture an adventure
• Remember your loved ones who are no more there
And many more reasons are there to make me interested in photography. 🙂
Q. Photography to you is a Passion, Fun or just a Job? And what branch of photography do you prefer personally?
Azhar: To me, Photography is passion. And whatever is passion, you of course, find fun in it. I would go more for wedding photography, but I’d love to shoot fashion and nature too.
Q. How would you describe your style to someone who’s never seen your work?
Azhar: A picture stops a moment from running away… I make an effort to provide the best pictures that retain their strength and impact over the years, regardless of the number of times they are viewed. No matter how much life changes, you can always look back to the wonderful memories.
Q. What are the greatest benefits and challenges you find working as a photographer?
Azhar: The biggest challenge these days is Competition. And especially when you are not very famous and you are being given an event, hopes of that client are very high. They want the best work done at a very low cost. Lol. Coming to the benefits, Alhamdulillah every client so far, is satisfied. And I keep getting work from their references.
Q. Photography is a demanding profession. How do you balance your Career and your Personal life?
Azhar: I give time to both. I manage somehow.
Q. How do you see Photography field today, when good camera phones, digital editing applications and photo sharing services are available to just about anyone?
Azhar: Since there are so many ways of easy photography these days, I still think professional one does stand out from the rest.
Q. What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?
Azhar: Nothing as such.
Q. Creativity is a continue process. How do you prepare for something new, how do you find unique ideas and inspiration?
Azhar: I keep experimenting with the camera settings, or with what I have to shoot. Sometime even random clicks make you find something creative or new in it. Somehow I find creative ideas.
Q. What career would you go into if you had to abandon photography?
Azhar: Not yet decided.
Q. Do you work alone or you have a team?
Azhar: Right now I work alone.
Q. What was your first camera? And do you remember what your first photo was?
Azhar: Nikon D5100 , I have no photo .
Q. So how far have you come since your first click?
Azhar: Now I use Nikon D7000 and I’ve got so many events after my first click.
Q. What will be your ideal photography kit?
Azhar: Nikon full frame cameras 🙂
Q. Stealing photographs is very common today. How do you see this situation and what you suggest to prevent it?
Azhar: the best way to prevent it is to watermark pictures.
Q. Tell us about some great moment or most fun experience you have had in your career?
Azhar: My first ever event shoot. It was a great fun.
Q. What are the steps involved in your creative process and What your models or clients should know before they come to you?
Azhar: I provide quality work and affordable too.
Q. What will be your advice to models about preparing for Photo-sessions?
Azhar: As I haven’t yet done any model shoot, so it’s something difficult to tell.
Q. Would you like to share some of the names you worked with so far and who did you enjoy working with?
Azhar: I am working alone but I will make my team near future.
Q. What are your thoughts about getting a formal education in photography? Would you recommend against it?
Azhar: No, I m not at all against it. I am actually in favor of getting quality and formal knowledge about photography.
Q. Do you think Photographers don’t get support from people at Social Networks as much as models get?
Azhar: No, both of them do.
Q. Let’s talk about the achievements you have earned by now and what are you looking for next?
Azhar: I’ve done well in wedding photography; now want to get into fashion too, to have more experience.
Q. What advice do you have for photography enthusiasts looking to go professional?
Azhar: One should have knowledge about photography basics. Rest, you get to know with the passage of time.
